This volcano is located about 200 miles (321km) outside of Honululu in Hawaii off the coast of the United States of America.
It first erupted at 2.20am on December 23rd 2024 and continued on to erupt for months afterwards into 2025.

How was it caused:
It was caused by massive amounts of continuous earthquakes beneath the summit causing magma movement and extreme pressure leading to huge eruptions that are still continuing.
There are enormous lava fountains, some 300 meters in heights and spreading far away from the volcano site itself.
Fun Fact: there used to be a golf course where the volcano was.. what do you think it would look like now?

What impact has it had:
Poor air quality due to the smoke and sulphur released
changes to the landscape surrounding the volcano site
constant falling ash impacting humans and wildlife, also causing fires
